Bio:
I accepted Christ as my Savior in 1988 as a result of taking my three year old daughter to church and hearing the salvation message. I then proceeded to live a very miserable, legalistic Christian life for 16 years, trying to get "life" out of fixing and controlling my family. I believed that if I did a good job as a Christian that God would fix my marriage but I was never able to measure up. I went through marriage counseling several times and nothing ever seemed to improve. In 2004, I had reached a point where I knew I wanted to get emotionally healthy more than anything else. I literally could no longer live with myself functioning like I was. My marriage was in a bad place and I knew was not going to be able to fix it. A friend referred me to Grace Ministries and I began the counseling process and attended a conference and a workshop. When I attended the conference, I felt like a huge boulder had been lifted off my back. I knew then that I had found the piece of my Christian life that I had been missing! Christ not only paid for my sins on the cross but he came to live through me. I no longer had to attempt to be in control anymore! I completed the 18 month Advanced Discipleship Training program and began working at GMI in August 2006. I am so greatful to God for the freedom I have experienced and for the emotional healing that is becoming a reality in my life and in my household.
